Progress in Negra

This week we finished cutting down certain trees on the Black Coast Estates project in Playa Negra

We've adhered to Costa Rica guidelines by marking each tree with a specific diameter. While somewhat tedious, this process has been organized and hasn't caused delays. It's a reasonable law aimed at ensuring the safety of nature in Costa Rica.

We are only weeks away from approval and beginning the improvements.

When I initially considered real estate development in Costa Rica, warnings about obtaining approvals were frequent. Many cautioned that it would take an eternity and some even suggested that approval required grift.

However that narrative didn’t align with other experiences and conversations I had. When I got past the noise I could see that these were common experiences in a distant past or for people inexperienced in development.

I moved forward in faith believing that if we did our job correctly we would be able to get our approvals in a timely manner. While we aren’t 100% complete yet, it seems evident that we will outperform our original timeline, which was already much shorter than what many had warned us about.

It will be exciting to finally break ground on a development after nearly 2 years since deciding to pursue Costa Rica.

SE Update

We've dedicated the past week to researching how to address concerns related to the quarry.

Fortunately, we've received mostly positive news:

#1 The process that generated the loudest noises is infrequent.

#2 The location nearest our property is stripped and will soon begin a remediation process.

#3 The owners have been easy to work with.

While there are still several concerns to address regarding the quarry, it's reassuring to know that we're off to a good start.
